Join our professional illustrator and computer scientist, Refka to learn about creating art with computers and designing for the laser cutter.

You'll be creating your own vector artwork which we'll then laser cut for you and send you the next day a complete kit to make your own light-up artwork.  The kit includes your own custom laser-cut design, complete with an electronic base and USB cable to power your creation.

We'll teach you the basics, but the design is up to you.  You can make it Christmas-themed, but equally you can base it around a science fiction theme, a Harry Potter character, or anything else that you like.  The finished product is stylish and can be used as an ornament, or a night-light, and makes the perfect gift for someone special.

N.B. This course involves sending you a package to assemble after you've completed the course.  We'll try to send this ASAP and it is likely that most campers will receive their package before XMas, but this can't be guaranteed.

Laser Art in Detail

Laser art will teach you how to create your own vector art and design for the laser cutter. When you've finished your session, we'll laser-cut your design and send it to you complete with a USB cable to power it and a hardware kit including the laser-cut base, the electronic LED module and all hardware needed to assemble it.

The design is up to you - we'll teach you some basic graphic art skills, but you can choose your own theme.  Your stylish finished creation is perfect as a light-up ornament, a Christmas-themed decoration, or even as a night light.

Our Tutors
We've brought together the best of our tutors to instruct and help the students. They're typically recent graduates or undergraduates studying Engineering or Computer Science at leading Russell-group Universities. Of course they're chosen for their communication and technical skills and have Enhanced DBS checks for working with children.

Our Sessions
Engaging learning must be hands-on. Our 'At Home' programme offer a mix of video tutoring, collaborative learning and self-paced project work during and after the session to make sure that learning is deep, engaging and lasting.

FAQs

My child has no prior experience - can they still attend?
Yes! We don't assume any prior knowledge for our courses.  The only exception is if when we run followup courses that are labelled as 'Advanced' or 'Level 2' that normally require the prior course to have been taken.  Do ask if you're unsure.
Five Stars The online course was great and the tutor engaged with the children and helped them calmly and effectively - we were not needed at all. My son really enjoyed the course and did all of the extra challenges too.
