3D Printing In Detail

Courses run 9:30am - 4:30pm* Mon-Fri
*Winchester venue finishes 5:30pm/3:15pm (Last Day)

Juniors (ages 9-13) - learn how to use Tinkercad, an online 3D design tool perfect for younger campers to make everything from custom stamps to name tags and personalised figures. Then graduate to the SolidWorks App, to learn mesh modelling of organic forms, animals and landscapes.

Seniors (ages 13-17) - learn Autodesk Fusion 360, professional software used daily by engineers. Create your very own designs such as phone stands, lampshades and custom game pieces. If you finish all that (or are a Fusion expert already!), learn about organic forms, assemblies and renders, and complete some real-world product design tasks with 3D printed prototypes.

Take home your 3D printer, designs and CAD software to continue working at home.

FAQs

Can overseas students still take home the printer, on a plane for example?
Yes! If you are travelling home after camp on a flight or by rail, we will help you pack up your printer for transport. You will need an extra suitcase to carry it on an aircraft - the minimum size for the printer is 53cm x 38cm x 20cm. If you are travelling on a train or otherwise can't take your printer home fully assembled, it can be packed down into the cardboard box it comes with for you to take home.

You will be able to access the assembly instructions after the course to help you put it back together again.
Five Stars Our kids are back from their 3rd/1st trip to Tech Camp. They’re raving about it and already picking the courses for next year. My son (14) has done two game design courses on previous stays but tried his hand at making a 3D printer this year. It’s absolutely amazing and he’s designing and printing all sorts of things ...
