We’re bringing you a whole new game design experience, with our Arcade Gamer course featuring the Microsoft Kitronix ARCADE Gamepad -a fully featured programmable gamepad for use with the MakeCode Arcade block editor.
Arcade gaming gave birth to the whole gaming industry. The first recognisable arcade games emerged in the 1930s with early pinball machines, which developed into the increasingly advanced electronic games of the 1960s. During the 70’s came some of the most famous arcade games, like Pacman and Space Invader. Games continued to advance, until the computer was invented and became commercially available, when arcades lost popularity and the modern gaming industry as we know it was born.

Another exciting year for gaming is kicked off to a great start with some fantastic new games, either already released or set to be released. Here is the low-down on some of our personal favourites - maybe some of them can provide you with inspiration for creating your own games!:

We love 3D printing. It's a big part of one of our most popular courses, and we have half a dozen in our own office that we use to print parts for things like our Laser Tag system. They can be one of the more frustrating technologies to use, though, and it's important to know the basics like the importance of levelling the bed properly and getting the first layer right. Doing some simple maintenance on the printers is also important, and something we try to teach the campers. This video is a great introduction to some of the more important things to keep your printer running smoothly.
Just finishing up at the Cheltenham Science Festival. We've had a great weekend. I've been runing some "Light, Lasers and Illusions" workshops for the Family Programme, and Jack & Felix have been running laser tag with the public in the gardens. Some of the locals were really geared-up for the tech tank, but even with full camouflage some of them still couldn't reach the trigger ...

We all need a bit of anti-death fluid. Frustrated by not being able to refill our hand sanitisers for our upcoming Easter Camp as the whole world seemed to be out of stock, we decided to make our own. There's more than a few websites showing you how to make hand sanitiser that are less than helpful. Unless you make something that is 65%+ alcohol, it's not going to necessarily kill the virus, so watch out for guides that tell you to use vodka and Aloe Vera gel or something similar.
